The challenge

DSM-Firmenich Biomedical produces biomaterials used across medicine and healthcare, but they are much more than their products. They partner with companies across the healthcare space to bring innovative devices and therapies to life, so people can move, heal, and live better.
The brief was to bring those materials to life in human form. Fingerpaint wanted a film with a seamless relay of energy running through it, one that makes customers believe DSM Biomedical is the partner to unlock the body's untapped potential.

The story

The film tells the science through people. A climber, a dancer, a footballer, a runner: each character carries a biomaterial through movement, so the audience feels what these materials make possible.
The film opens on the turn from product to possibility: "It's not powder, it's pushing ahead. It's not drug delivery, it's driving wellness." We crafted a narrative that moves fluidly between the biomaterials, with an energy that begins as a single spark and runs through the whole film.

The partnership

Fingerpaint were aiming for a new level for their work with DSM, and they needed a partner who could deliver it and take their client through a new process with confidence from the start.
Working closely with Fingerpaint's in-house team, we developed the storyboard and key frames into an effective sequence, and kept the client clear on what to expect at every stage of the process. The partnership between Mainframe and Fingerpaint worked on every level.
