The challenge
(01)
ARC-52 is a 52 year old Bowmore single malt in a decanter designed with Aston Martin, housed in a case built to be opened in stages. The unboxing is the product's ceremony, and it could not be filmed well. The chrome lid reflects everything, and the sequence of reveals is long and precise.
Burgess Studio needed a fully CG unboxing that walks through every innovative feature of the case and the decanter.

The unboxing
(02)
The film is a journey around the object. Angles and camera moves were chosen to describe the flowing lines of the decanter, revealing the key and the engraved body in order, set to a cinematic score.

The craft
(03)
Chrome, glass and 52 year old whisky behave differently under light, and each was built to hold up in close-up. The finished film carries the beauty and elegance the piece has in the hand.
